Face Search for Photographers

From a 5,000-shot wedding to a season of school portraits: give SnapByFace one photo of the person and it returns the photos they appear in — sorted by similarity, exported to your delivery folder, with nothing uploaded.

The problem

Finding one person in thousands of frames

A single event can leave you with thousands of frames, and clients do not ask for "the album" — they ask for "every photo of me". Tagging by hand is hours of unpaid work, and cloud tools that could help require uploading client media you may have promised not to upload.

SnapByFace runs the search on your own machine. Add one reference photo per person — the bride, the groom, each family — point it at the event folders, and export every match. Client photos never leave your computer, which is exactly what your contracts and your clients expect.

Workflow

How photographers use it

1

Collect reference photos

One clear shot per person, named after them — the file name becomes their name. Couples, families, whole guest lists work the same way.

2

Scan the event folders

Point SnapByFace at the folders where the shoot already lives. JPEG and HEIC from any camera or phone are read directly; RAW shooters export JPEGs for delivery anyway.

3

Tune, then deliver

Raise the similarity threshold for strict, delivery-ready sets; lower it to catch candid frames. Select matches and export with original timestamps intact.

Why it fits the studio

What you get

Client privacy by architecture

Wedding and family media is exactly the kind of data that should not sit on someone else's server. With SnapByFace it never leaves your workstation — there is no upload step at all.

Per-person exports in one click

Select the matches for one person and export them to a delivery folder. No manual culling pass just to gather everyone's photos.

Built for big events

Incremental scanning and pausable, resumable indexing keep a multi-thousand-shot event manageable; add late-arriving shots later without re-processing the rest.

Honest results

Matches are similarity scores, not identity claims — you review the set before it reaches the client, which fits how you already quality-check deliveries.

Photographer FAQ

Does it work with RAW files?
No — SnapByFace reads JPG, JPEG, PNG, BMP, TIFF, WebP and HEIC/HEIF. Since RAW files are converted to JPEG for delivery anyway, point it at your delivery exports.
Do client photos get uploaded anywhere?
No. Scanning, matching and export happen on your own machine. The only outbound request is an optional statistics ping that carries no media data and can be switched off.
How large an event can it handle?
It is built for whole archives — think thousands of frames per event, with incremental indexing and pause/resume for the first pass.
What does it cost?
The free trial runs full local searches with capped results. Paid plans are one-time payments — a 24-Hour ($1), 6 Months ($50), 1 Year ($90), 2 Years ($170) or Lifetime ($300) — each license covering one computer.
