Terms of Service

1. License

Buying a plan grants you a non-exclusive license to use SnapByFace on one computer, for the period of the plan you bought (or indefinitely for Lifetime). The license is tied to the machine code of that computer.

Reinstalling on the same hardware keeps the machine code, so the same license code keeps working. Replacing the motherboard or main drive produces a new machine code — see transfers on the activation page.

2. Restrictions

You may not share or resell your license code, publish it, or use it to activate SnapByFace on more than one computer.

You may not reverse engineer, modify or redistribute the application, or remove the models bundled with it and use them separately.

3. Acceptable use

You must not use SnapByFace to identify people without a lawful basis, or in breach of the laws that apply to you — including laws on biometric data, workplace monitoring and surveillance.

You are responsible for how you use the software and for having the right to search the media you point it at.

4. Trial

Without a license, SnapByFace performs the same local search, but the results view is limited to 5 matches per person and 20 matches per search. Activating unlocks the matches already found — you do not need to run the search again.

5. Payments, tax and refunds

Payments are processed by Waffo Pancake, the merchant of record, which handles VAT, sales tax and invoices. Refunds follow our refund policy: 14 days, unused.

6. Updates

Minor updates inside your plan period are included. We may change features over time, but we will not remove local-only operation from a version you have already bought.

7. Term and Termination

Term: Your license begins when you activate SnapByFace and continues for the duration of the plan you bought — 24 hours, 6 months, 1 year, 2 years, or indefinitely for Lifetime. Every plan is a one-time payment: there is no subscription and no automatic renewal. A fixed-term plan simply expires when its period ends; nothing renews and you are never charged again. Expiry never locks your data — the app still opens, still shows, and still exports results you have already found; it only stops starting new analysis.

Termination for breach: We may suspend or permanently terminate your license without notice or refund if you:

• Use your license code on more than one computer simultaneously,

• Share, resell, or publicly distribute your license code,

• Reverse engineer, modify, or redistribute the application,

• Use SnapByFace in violation of applicable laws (including biometric data regulations, surveillance laws, or workplace monitoring restrictions), or

• Use SnapByFace to unlawfully identify people without a legal basis.

Effect of termination: When a license is terminated, your license code will be revoked and will no longer activate SnapByFace. You must immediately stop using the software. Termination does not entitle you to a refund.

Survival: Sections covering Restrictions, Acceptable Use, Liability, and Contact survive any termination.

8. Liability

SnapByFace is provided "as is". It is a search aid: results are similarity scores, not proof of identity, and you should confirm anything important yourself. To the extent permitted by law, our liability is limited to the amount you paid for the license.
