Face search that does not require trust in a server
Most face search tools require you to upload your photos to a cloud service, where they are stored, processed and potentially retained. Private face search means the opposite: every step — face detection, embedding extraction and matching — happens on your own machine.
SnapByFace is a desktop app for Windows and macOS. The face models ship inside the installer, so after installation, the app never downloads anything at runtime. Your photos, videos and the face data derived from them stay in a local folder in your user directory.

Index locally
Point SnapByFace at your media folders. Faces are detected and encoded into 512-dimension embeddings stored in a local folder. Nothing is sent anywhere.
Search without uploading
Pick a person, get matches ranked by similarity. The entire comparison runs on your CPU — no image leaves your machine during the search.

No server that could see your media
SnapByFace is a local program, not a web service. There is no server infrastructure that receives or stores your photos, videos or face data.
The one outbound request, stated plainly
An optional device-statistics ping (machine code, app version, OS, language, activation state) is sent at most once per 24 hours. It carries no media data and can be switched off in Settings.
